Well, obviously it has to be this flag.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has got to be the most controversial topic today.
Now you might ask why is the Flag of Israel the controversial one and not the flag of Palestine.
In addition, Israeli citizens are banned from entering most Muslim-majority countries.
You can’t get more controversial than that.
The flag of Israel features the Star of David on it. Of course, the Muslim population is very opposed to this flag. In the Israeli Constitution, it states that “The State of Israel is a Jewish State and the National Home of the Jewish People, wherein the Jewish People fulfills its yearning for self-determination in accordance with its historical and cultural heritage”. It clearly states that Israel is for the Jewish people, and the Jewish people ONLY. The flag is an extension of that, as it flies the symbol of Judaism. The state of Israel in and of itself is controversial, so any symbol of Israel will be controversial.
Hold up the current official flag of Vietnam up in any Vietnamese-American community, and you’re bound to get stoned… or perhaps hear a collective uproar of “?? má!”
For many Vietnamese-Americans who fled from the grips of the com...st takeover in 1975 and afterwards, this flag stirs up strong feelings of anger and pure hatred. The above flag is completely alien and bears no fond memories of their former homeland.
