Which country would you recommend? And why? Iwant to go backpacking for 1 month. It is my first time, and I want to do it as cheap as possible. I would love to have a nice local experience, and not go to a place full with tourists/travelers.

I''''d highly recommend visiting the Czech Republic. I have visited the Czech Republic three times and absolutely love the country. Every city in the Czech Republic is magical. It seems unreal walking down the streets and seeing all the beautiful colourful architecture. The people of the Czech Republic are really friendly and stop to help the tourists if needed. I have experienced this quite a couple of times when I seemed lost someone stopped to ask if everything was alright and whether I needed directions.

Prague the capital is an amazing city with loads to do. In addition one of my favourite places is a town four hours from Prague called Cesky Krumlov that''''s a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This city is of such great importance to so many people around the world, it automatically holds significance for everyone else as well.
Jews, Musli... and Christians all have long histories that centre around Jerusalem, and that is obvious upon arriving in the city.
Jerusalem is also ''''the centre'''' of the conflict between Palestinians and Israeli''''s, and the tension is also obvious. You have a city that is split in two, with each side slowly seeping into the other. East Jerusalem and West Jerusalem are very much separated, but are becoming more entwined with one another.

I would definitely recommend Laos. Its such a beautiful place and not many people know about it.
I myself kept postponing my trip to laos as I was skeptical about getting much out of the country. Even Wikitravel is not very well upxed.

I think almost every country is interesting to visit. Depending on your interests you might choose a mediterranean country for it''''s food and beaches or Nepal or Switzerland for it''''s impressive mountains.
What I really like is a country where you have absolutely no expectations for and which surprises you to the fullest with ultra friendly people, bizarre activities or fantastic food.

The answer would depend on the number of days that you want to spend,the budget and the personal preferences. It would also depend upon the season there at that time.
If you have 15 days or so , a few countries in Europe( such as Switzerland, Germany and Paris or Bruges) can be covered well and there is also an option of Australia ( Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast and Great barrier Reef) for the same duration.
Scandinavia also offers a good choice for about 10 days.
For a Short holiday say about 5–6 days Singapore is one of the best options.
