Big cities have many amenities and attractions, but it doesn't compare to the calm of the
countryside. This man grew tired of living in the big city and returned to his hometown,
where he now uses all his knowledge and resourcefulness to dig a house in the mountains.
Could you build something like this? Leave your answer in the comments

Damn, his tools are powerful
Most of the material he's digging and drilling, is clay.

respect for someone who has a vision, a feat so time-consuming that his dedication along with skill, patience, and ingenuity brought him his Oasis ... hopefully, that mountainside is solid...

A man of infinite patience and enormous variety of skills. I just wish he had proper protective gear for his ears, eyes and lungs so he’ll be able to enjoy his new home .
This is likely in China. Not sure they do safety there. But hey... At least he's going into a mountain to avoid their "Tofu-dregs" type of construction.
Wow amazing ! You are really hard work . Don't forget water slide to swimming pool
No fan of the chinese government ( but yeah all governments of big countries are big bastards). Have to admit chinese people aren't afraid of hard working
@ShandyS They are, they always make a move about propaganda, about showing how capable, brave, intelect, creative a Chinese people is, including this video, don't tell me you're Chinese and tried to defend this idea
This is amazing. Fred and Barney would be extremely jealous.
That is a softer kind of rock called "dead rock" but still requires a lot of work. Amazing.
This guy is incredible he's done some job with some power tools right into the side of a mountain unbelievable skills
Incredible
I just think about his dedication
Love it
Simultaneously i wish to travel this amazing house
It is truly amazing and the house will always be cool. However upon his completion I am sure he wished he installed that nice door later. 7:13
Wonderful and very beautiful work, I wish I had equipment like it so that I could make our home like it
Amazing and it only took him 15 minutes to do all that.
Amazing that’s all I can get out he’s just simply amazing n that was dedication n hard work n I’d love to live in that mountain built beautiful house
The fact that someone can look at the side of a large rock and say, "I'm going to live there", is amazing. The amount of imagination alone is remarkable. Now to have the skill to do it just adds to the amazement.

I admire his dedication and strength. This is a lot of work.
its STILL super fast when you put it at 0.25 speed in the settings for the video <3 amazing work dude! ! !
This guy is so clean, I go in the garden and look like I've been mud wrestling. This guy wears his shirts and jackets and doesn't break a sweat or even get a spot on his clothes.
Imagine thousands of years from now archaeologists find this and think we were all fancy cavemen.
I'd love to live inside of a mountainside overlooking the horizon. Away from people, away from what society is becoming.. just at peace in a very remote location to where I could grow my crops without any issue.
Yea no he spent ALOT of money on diamond drill bits. They run from 130-300 dollars each and he def ran thorough those like candy. Probly spent like 15k on drill bits alone.
A true craftsman, who will never know the amazing sound quality of his man cave because he didn't wear ANY ear protection. Totally worth it though. For sure. No doubt. 100%
This was absolutely amazing! Very talented young man, wish him all the best in his new home. The best thing about it is, when your family grows ... just add more rooms, or floors!
At first, I thought the two very long shelves were going to be bunk beds. Figured it was a little narrow and dont roll over!
On another note, because the video is so quick, I slowed it down since its not very long and you get to appreciate it even more. One question tho ... why would he put his computer and electronics in front of a screened window? Does it not rain where he is?
20 months of no hearing protection. Now he can sit back and enjoy the peaceful sounds of constant ringing in the forest.
whats truly amazing is the fact that his build will last for god knows how long. future archeologist will no doubt mistake his creation for another civilization passing thru.
The way the rent be looking these days . Digging a hole in a mountain to make a apartment sounds good lol
How long did it take you to carve out your cave dwelling? Did you have to get permission from anyone to carve a hole into the mountain? This was so enjoyable to watch, and you know if I were young I would probably live in one.
Amazing what you can do in a country with zero planning permission rules. Hopefully it's structurally sound and won't collapse.
Would have liked to have seen the real excavation prior to getting it into a walk in cave. Skipped the most important part. Structurally this is incredibly questionable. Since the material carves without major industrial tools, I fear it can collapse with the same ease.
Dedication, determination and discipline is what I got out of this hard working man; but, is it just me that noticed that mountain is mostly made of compressed soil? If they get rainy season is he or anyone inside in risk of everything collapsing inside?.. Just a thought

You cant make a living space like this in just any cliffside. You need a rock soft enough to bore through but not so soft that it will cave in. Having said that, this is beautiful and I applaud this fellow for his efforts.
Tools are nothing when comparing with the price of buying a plot of land. Bravo! To this multi talented man (furniture, electrician, architecture, body builders and performing with floor tiles...
He might have paid a heavy price by damaging his lungs by not wearing adequate masks. Other than that, it was an incredible effort beyond any reasonable doubt. Viele Grü?e, Dr. L
Imagine a Government official come by right as he finishes and says “sir this mountain is government property you have to leave”
Awesome, to say the least. Takes immense skill and patience, but what about geo-cracking? I can imagine that living in there would make enough thermal energy to shift the rock above.

Well, hopefully all the technical requirements have been observed like proper supporting - CT bolts installation, some mesh, shotcreting otherwise think it's rather dangerous to live in there. Anyway good luck, hardworking people
What's the earthquake risk like there? Very clever and skilled man, he knows about the heat expansion and split risk of rock - cooking outside.
The gentlemen put a lot of work into the presented project. You can see a great experience.
Despite modern tools, the strength of human hands is also needed. At the same time full of admiration, congratulations .
Is very impressive that he managed to do this all by himself, what's even more impressive is that people thousands of years ago used to sculpt giant monuments and palaces inside of rocky mountains without any modern tools.
The stuff he's digging in is called "loess". Look it up. Very deep deposits of it in China.
Solid rock would not be this easy. Still, nice job.
Also, where's the toilet?
In my 20's watching this I would of wanted to do this. I'm in my 50's now and just watching this made my back hurt. Awesome work though.
Great work,I think that all the houses in mountains and Rocky places should build inside ,thus these will be weather proof and the upper surface will be saved for Forest etc.this is my thought in district Shangla kpk Pakistan.
Nice, takes a lot of patience to do something like this though. Can't do it in my country even if you had the land, the local council would tell you to destroy it because you don't have planning permission. In China I believe you buy the land and it's yours to build on as you wish.
8:38 One small slip and there won't be a Tiger Junior.
That must have taken forever because I've used a core driller when I was a pipefitter when
I was young and it takes a long time to take one of those cylinders out.
I just cant imagine the amount of time and hard work this guy went through. Not to mention his dedication and patience. At least he was busy during the pandemic. Thank you for sharing your video. its very inspiring but I don't think I can do what you accomplished.
Oh my goodness! This is the answer to homelessness. So, that those who have lost their jobs and homes can have shelter and get back on their feet. Everyone would work together to keep it clean and maintained. Just a thought...
It half done, there’s second floor which connects the first floor with a spiral staircase and the balcony he has already built. Also small pool feed some fish and a garden outside included. I’m Chinese I get it from the Chinese subtitles
THIS YOUNG MAN IS AN AMAZING CIVIL ENGINEER PLUS AN EXTRA ORDINARY ARCHITECT PLUS A MASTER BUILDER HIMSELF, A PLUMBER, AN ELECTRICIAN, A LANDSCAPER, HE IS AN INTERIOR DECORATOR IN SHORT HE IS THE SO CALLED JACK OF ALL TRADE YOUNG MAN.
These videos ALWAYS tickle me because if you do it in the United States it's getting torn down as soon as it's discovered.... Did you get a permit? have you been paying taxes? who's land is it? Oooh okay the government's
I'm a granite fabricator, a stoneman. My skill set is one a general contractor doesn't need and perhaps this guy learned as he went but watching him, he's a master stoneman. Watching him makes think about the man who got stuck in nutty putty cave and died. For almost a day they tried pully systems, considered breaking his legs ro free him and I believe someone who works with stone everyday could've freed his with 4 hours, a diamond blade grinder and a hammer and chisel. This man could've saved that guy
I actually loved it. Let's just hope it holds from an earthquake. It lacks structural support, although he's almost at the top most part of the mountain so there's not much dead load on top of his house. Im not a geodetic engineer I'm not even sure if those are limestone or just hardened mud but I have a background in architecture and I must say job well done.
