No, pandas would not make good pets. Although Pandas in captivity do become accustomed to being fussed over, their personalities are very solitary except when breeding. In the case of the panda, from the videos I've seen, they seem more apt to be gentle and passive than the other bears, which is why I'm guessing you ask the question, but humans only have things no bigger than a big dog as pets, for the most part, for good reason. Even big dogs can be a huge liability and dogs have a higher affinity to humans than any other creature in the world. Anyone opting for something wild is rolling dice.

No - it would be foolish to own a panda.
