On the evening of Thursday, as firefighters combated the blazes at the Jinyun Mountains of the city's Beibei district, a spectacular sight captured the heart of many people - a stream of headlights worn by fire and rescue workers illuminated the dark mountain paths, posing a stark comparison with the red flames raging on the mountain.

After learning the news, Francis Stonier, a 42-year-old American teacher at the city's Southwest University, answered the call immediately. His job was to use chain saws to cut wood to create fire barriers on the mountain.

It's pretty cool how so many gathered to help.
Looks a bit staged at certain parts. The camera angles in certain shots are too cinematic for something adhoc.
I bet the firefighter was asked to step off and step on again just to make that shot going up hill.
Other than that, good they managed to get the local dirt bike club to get involved. If it works it ain't stupid.

I've seen thousands of "chinese volunteer videos" that are staged as fuck.
You can find over a dozen of the covid videos where people are making a human chain to offload good from a truck, where if they just moved the truck 50 meters down the street, the could offload the truck with 3 guys faster than with a hundred.
Use your eyes and brain.

What exactly are they bringing up the mountain that could fight a forest fire? Why are they bringing people into a burning area when they should be evacuating people instead?

Probably more tools to clear/burn vegetation to create buffers incase the team ran out. Or even just food cus forest firefighting can last days and is very tiring.

Just shut the fuk up already lol. It's a forest fire. People get enlisted to help with immediate fires like this when the local teams aren't enough to handle it. It happens in the US too. Civilians are given task like delivering tools. Forest fires aren't regular house fires. Forest fires require alot of volunteers from other states and even civilians to handle because it's a large-scale disaster. The entire village and towns nearby are endangered and everyone is allowed to help in any way they can.
So yea, shut the fuk up.

ebikes were banned in some major cities, motorcycles are not banned as far as I know.
It's actually the complete opposite. But motorbikes aren't banned. Heavily taxed the the point where it's a hobby. Smaller towns and cities still have old dudes using their Hondas as taxis and carrying all sorts.
But eBikes are used in tier 1 cities for last mile delivery jobs.

No, but much rarer in cities. I still see the odd motorbike in Shanghai, but it's just rich hobbiests. Tax is very high! In smaller towns and cities, especially ones with hills, they're all over. Even used as taxis and carrying shit.
But eBikes are 95% of road users in cities. China used to have a huge smog probe. That's pretty much over now.

They are socially discouraged, they are seen as poor people vehicles, which.... is true to a degree, but beyond that, and some cities in particular outlawing them in city centers bc transit accidents they are quite common, mopeds, scooters, low CC bikes
It is rarer to see high CC bikes tho, I think that goes to what I mentioned above, they are seen as poor people vehicles, so men under family pressure will prefer a nice car than a nice high cc motorcycle
