It's much more common to have a second-hand (or third-hand) iPhone than for an Android phone. That is one major advantage of the Apple ecosystem, that the newer OS releases will run at least marginally well on quite old hardware.

Well I went to a store and checked Motos and they feel of hiher quality than similarly priced Samsungs. Well, Huawei, Xiaomi and other Chinese brands feel higher quality than Samsung as well. As a long-time Samsung user I'm done with them, the quality is no longer there. Their screens are worse than the competition, the UI is too fussy-looking (icons and text), blacks look like greys in normal and high brightness. Everything else is better, even Sony.

Poeple I know(phones from last 5 years) : Phones after 2020 are usually Samsung, 2017-2019 usually Huawei. Most people also hate iPhones and call them overpriced garbage. iPhones in general are one of these status items like driving new BMW/Mercedes.
Personally I use Lenovo K6(2017) as main phone and Samsung M51(2021) just for Youtube videos in bed lol. These new phones are just too big and heavy for pockets.

As an Android guy, I went for iPhone 12 mini because it's a pocket rocket. So did many other people I know. There are only Asus Zenfones which are relatively compact sized and that's about it.

Yeah, BUT if the iOS/Android split is 50/50 it means Apple is the most popular brand, because there are many brands of Android phones.
It’s not like all android phones are made by Samsung for example.

I disagree that the UK is 'firmly Apple territory'. I think it really depends on your socio-economic group because I'm from the UK and none of my friends have Apple phones as we are all poor as shit.

It's been Samsung for a long time in Turkey, followed by Apple and Xiaomi. I believe Samsung rose to the leadership in the market way back in the days of Nokia's decline.
