Almost certainly caused by the aftermarket wheels on the pickup. The wheels are wider than the vehicle is designed for. The inside of the tire / wheel assembly has to be in the same location as the stock assembly to avoid hitting the body when turning. This moves the center of the wide wheel outward. This stresses the wheel studs and also the outer wheel bearing. The inner bearing is much larger than the outer bearing and is designed to carry the vertical load while the smaller outer bearing holds the hub in place. Moving the center of the wheel outwards transfers the vertical load to the outer bearing (which is too small to carry the load) and also exerts and unintended stretch on the wheel studs. Either the outer bearing disintegrates or the studs fail. The rear axle is a different design and most of the time it's the front wheel that fails.

They are also VERY bad for wheel bearings; the combination of spacers and oversized wheels/tires presents strain on drivetrain components that they weren't nearly designed to handle. Using wheel spacers is just asking for problems and they should probably be banned.

It wasn't tire inflation, it was a wheel adapter that broke, probably a cheap one. You can clearly see the truck had wide tires so an adapter was used so the tire fits under the frx and the front steering can turn without hitting.

This is why impact drivers shouldn't be used to install lug nuts, oil pan bolts, etc. Too many mechanics overuse them or have the wrong settings for the task. All to save a few moments of time.

Everybody arguing on here about what caused the tire to come off the truck when the real story is, Kia apparently makes a pretty fine car. Catching air like that, multiple rolls and the driver is relatively unharmed.
