Sound and educated answer. As an X fighter pilot of PAF who uses both I would personally choose f16 any given day and twice on weekends just because there isn’t an aircraft built in this world that fits it pilot like a glove then F 16. It’s a steed it’s a beast and believe you me it becomes a part of pilots body

It’s not an Apple to Apple comparison. J10B vs F-16 block 52, or J10C vs F-16 block 70/72.
F-16 block 40 is an export version of F-16 block 52, so it’s capabilities Is also reduced. The AIM 120 applied Is AIM-120 C5 which has shorter range, about 50km, not AIM-120D used by US. The sidewinder also used export version, AIM-9P4, an export version of AIM-9M, not AIM-9X that have high off bore sight used by US.
Based on the specification, it is obviously J10C China version outmatch F-16 block 40. As usual, China always try to give the best offer they can make, which specification is near to their own.

J10CE is actually pretty new. Around 2020s. J10B/A are older.
The past few years, there aren’t that many major spending on fighters on nations that cannot make or collaborate on one.
For those that do, it would be naive to think, they don’t come under arm twisting pressure from Washington to discourage buying J10C.
Moreover it’s not easy for new entrants to break into market for users already familiar or sunk costs into knowledge/maintenance/infrastructure/parts for Euro/US/Russian planes.
Fighter procurements take ages to announce and years more to materialise.
For the clueless, it’s not like as fast as buying fruits from a market.
Also this is a comparison between J10C and F16 Block 40. It’s possible J10C may be better. It’s also likely the newer F16 Blocks (60 onwards) may be better.
Nevertheless there are some nations like Saudi which already have Western planes are considering J10C. They’ve already had some combat experience with Chinese drones.
Which leads to another possibility for lack of high budget fighter procurements is the rise of combat drones. China is a significant exporter for combat drones.

Problem is, which block 40? Upgrade packages transform a lot of the comparisons of sensors and EW capability.
To be fair to the Viper here, the block 40 is from 1988 and the J10A is from 2005. Ignoring upgrades, that’s almost an 18 year gap. And only to get something from China that is on parity to slight edge. 2018 for the J10C, that’s 30 years timegap. If it’s a real block 40, then if the J10C even had to use a BVRAAM to kill it then we know the J10C is a piece of trash. It should have so many advantages that it could knock the antique viper out with a fox 2 or blind it’s radar, burn out it’s rwr, and gun it from low six o clock. But I digress.
But if we do apples to apples and pick a cutting edge Viper in service vs a cutting edge J10C…
We see the Viper has sensor and EW, avionics edges that almost certainly outdo the J10. Probably a better comparison would be an uprated Block 52+ with the AESA upgrades and better jamming pods.
The range of a missile on paper matters, no doubt, but so many other factors matter even more that nobody, literally nobody who will ever write on the topic on Quora, legally

I'd bet that an F16 with the Have Glass treatment would have a lower RCS. Also the export version of PL-15 is about the same as AMRAAM C7. J10C is a pretty nice airplane but if I was going to war id take the F16 anyday. Uses almost all fighter launched NATO weapons and spare parts are everywhere. I agree pilot skill between these 2 would be the likely decider.
