Which part of a video game really scared you?
For me I have said it before.
It’s definitely gotta be at the cursed station level in Metro:2033.
Where you had to all by yourself seal two breaches from which mutated beasts are creeping in.
That dark tunnel was the damned creepiest part of the entire game for me.
I think I felt what Artyom felt after he set the charges to detonate.
The adrenaline,sweat and fear.
Running as fast as he can without looking back as the bomb detonates and collapses that section of the tunnel.
Just my experience.

I used to play a lot of strategy games. I fell in love with Age of Empires II and Heroes of Might and Magic III when I was a teenager. Most of the Quora teens probably have never heard of these games. Trust me, they were huge, back in my day.
[Break]: OMG, OMG, OMG, I’ve, like, just totally used back in my day, in a totally legit way! Wow, I’m one of the seniors now. I’m all grown up, yo! No wonder my hair is turning white and my hairline is receding.
Eventually, I discovered Civ III, and I thought it was the best game God himself had ever designed, especially after the Conquests expansion pack.

Anyway, these days, I’m mostly playing one game, and that game is Elder Scrolls: Legends.
It’s kind of like Magic: the Gathering, only the mana (called magicka) system is better, and the decks are… more interesting. I’ve almost entirely stopped playing Magic.

My all-time favorite genre is real-time strategy, but it has not been a great time for major new RTS games. So I still play Age of Empires 3 a lot (and I’m very excited for the new AOE game rumored to be coming later this year). I also love FIFA and have played every version since it first came out in 1993 (on 3DO!).

What is the worst scare you've had in a video game?
This happened when I was about seven or six years old and the Xbox-360 was a thing. My dad got the game “Gears of War” and it had a split screen mode so the both of us could play together. At one point we reach a level inside this huge china shop and this is where the scaring starts coming.

In a game called F.E.A.R 2 you are being hunted and stalked by a ghost the whole game and even in the first or second mission you are walking through an old movie theatre and the jump scare of this young decomposed woman scaring you and crawling to your face just made me jump pretty bad.

Wanted to answer a fun one :) Actually, right now I’m working on a video game as a side project. I’m a big fan of this board game called “Codex: Card-Time Strategy”, but it isn’t playable online and can be tough to find opponents in-person. I’m part of a tiny group of crazy fans who actually use a spreadsheet to play, posting turns by email or forum. After a while, I thought it would make a fun project to try and create a real, playable online version of the game and obtained permission from the creator to go for it.

In the past, I’ve played all sorts of stuff, from competitive Team Fortress 2 to RPGs like Divinity. Ken (our CEO) and I both occasionally play Overwatch, but lately the only thing I’m playing is Mario Kart with a surprisingly good 4.5 year old.
