1. That's not the "first" and "second" half. The sealing of Wukong literally happened in the PROLOGUE of the novel. The fact that you think it's half of the story is crazy to me. It also means you know almost nothing about the entire story.
2. The entity that challenged Wukong was Ru Lai, the leader of ALL Buddhas. Yes. There are a whole lot of Buddhas, not ONE.
3. He didn't achieve Buddhahood through strength. He achieved it because he completed the journey and attained it via enlightenment.

@Jay9966 the cloning thing being weaker isn't really mentioned in the novel, more so a trope of video games for the sake of balancing, at least, to my knowledge. The transforming thing doesn't up his power level is also arguable since he did get the three heads, six arms form to match that power up of nezha. It's hard to do kratos vs wukong ( novel ) since there are a variety of versions of him that it ranges from he's very capable to nigh omnipotent bull shjt. You can do the versus based on video game ip only which should lessen the inconsistency by a lot but still it's not a fair comparison since GOW world is much more fleshed out and easier to understand the magnitude of Kratos feats than that of wukong in Black myth

Especially if we’re talking about the Greek Gods in the Kratos games whom were nerfed for the purpose of being killed by Kratos. Buddha is a being above all else in Chinese mythology, a being where no one could see him nor physically touch him. The universe was in his palm, that is the lore in Chinese mythology where was in Greek mythology. Zeus was simply a super natural primordial being on top of a mountain who would take advantage of everyone, raping women etc. a being above all else was the only one who could stop wukong, and we’re comparing him to Kratos? Kratos is food for wukong.

Okay, this whole debate is very similar to the Asura (from asura's wrath) vs Kratos fight. First off, the reality is, non of these beings, can technically actually die. Both Asura and Kratos, if they do "die", they'll just crawl back out of naraka or the underworld and potential keep coming back forever, whereas Wukong can't actually even die at all. He's literally multiple times over immortal, so the best you could possibly do is seal him like Buddha did, because there's literally no way to kill him and no one could beat him at that time except for essentially the over god of that world. So if we're gonna compare feats of strength and ability, technically speaking Wukong has the most ridiculous of them all. It's literally cartoonish, what he has done and can do. That's kind of the point. Now that doesn't mean he can't be defeated, but usually when he is its normally more often due to him being arrogant and stupid, rather than him being weaker than his opponent. So, honestly, I think its pretty fair to say that Wukong based off of his feats, is stronger than Kratos. But that doesn't mean that Kratos couldn't defeat Wukong with the right items and tactics just like how he needed the spear to beat Heimdall in ragnorok.

Yes, he can use the transformation to alter his physical powers, but he has never used it to gain other types of power other than physical. And in mythical bs, more arms isn't exactly that powerful.

@AsapGaming503 Not the best argument. The creators of GOW already confirmed their interpretation of the gods are supposed to be as powerful as their actual mythological counterparts. It just so happens they are represented as nerfed for the sake of making the game cinematics and gameplay fit their ideas. That is also the explanation of why Kratos sometimes struggles to open a chest or a door, but in other instances can lift stuff heavier than a building. That being said, Kratos killed Hercules, who is at the very least as strong as Atlas since both could hold the heavens, meaning the can essentially hold the entirety of the universe above Earth. And Kratos did so with sheer strength. That being said he got even stronger after GOW3, meaning he's probably capable of a lot more.

i like to pretend that the devs made us play a descendant of wukong simply because the player would eventually be defeated many times and the real wukong wouldnt tolerate such a thing.
