A long time ago in America, you could say “why should we accept women?” or “why should we accept people of different races?”
The answer is always the same. Because they’re human like anyone else. Because they have emotions and opinions and beliefs like anyone else. Because they’ve been oppressed for being themselves and being the way they were born for way too long. You don’t wanna accept them? That’s fine, just don’t talk to them or about them and we can go our separate ways.

Because they are people. They are human beings. They are your friends, your brothers, your sisters, your cousins, your teachers, your co-workers, your supervisors, or your leaders. They are as similar as every human being there is. Some people are red-haired. Some people are blonde. Some people are left-handed. Some people are straight. Some people are gay. No matter what categories we fall into, we are still and will always be, human beings.
We know how it feels to live as a human. How we breathe, how we communicate, how we biologically do stuff because only our species can do the things that other species can not. We relate with each other on every level as far as biological process is concerned. We can’t relate with dogs or cats. We relate with human beings.

Sexual preferences have been historically become targets of negative social norms. Some people would call us sick, mentally ill, rapists, abominations, monsters, don’t deserve to live, can’t do anything normal, and they will always prey on us just because of our mere existence. They think they understand but they don’t, because they didn’t go through the same process as we do and they do not want to find out, yet they keep agreeing with the same shits from the people that still enjoy hurting LGBT for the sake of their enjoyment with their egos.

Despite these hardships, we never give up to prove ourselves to the society that we are not different. We keep contributing, spreading positivities, and helping others. If our actions could change just one person to accept us, then all of those struggles are worth every blood, sweat, and tears. We don’t necessarily need you to support us, just accept our mere existence that we’re here. Think about it, what is the worst thing that can happen to you if you accept LGBT? You will only relieve someone’s burden by becoming an ally and they will remember you, they will be more productive, and they will respect you for choosing that stance.
