Three people died after their Google Maps wrongly led their car to an under-construction bridge, with the vehicle plunging into a river in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district, police said.

Instead of blaming Google maps ( looking for scapegoat) blame the PWD who should have barricaded the bridge but didn't because they are stupid and inefficient.

Don't blame google maps, yes have seen errors, even in Mumbai city, the map takes a car on a road where even bikes canot cross due to street vendors having taken over the bulk of the road. What about basis road safety and signs, should the entry not have been barricaded and entry prohibited saying, under construction, Why a main road is open and aligned with an incomplete bridge. All our politicians and top officials, never seem to talk about road safety, we have the highest number of injuries and fatalities on our roads basis vehicle kilometres run. Ministry of roads makes roads, does not bother on safety. Lucknow to Ayodhya highway, wonderful, but in between are gaps to make U turns, highly dangerous, never does an expressway allow in between U turns!!! Poor design frequently the cause, but who will listen???

It again proved that there is no value of life in this country. Specially under the current regime when in d garb of Infra, either the quality is compromised or the safety is jeopardised. Family members are right to blame the construction authority for grave negligence and strict murder case must be filed.....??? But alas, all will be hushed up sooner than later!!!!

this is not the first instance. numerous times, google map has shown me a route where even the roads don't exist. there has to be some accountability on these tech companies as well. its their software that fail to provide accurate info. i had a close experience when there was n road, only voulders and deep potholes and sand was there and my google was showing a straight road. i had to circle back 20 km because of this stupid mistake.
