Venice Italy is a famous water town. Yet China has not just one, but many such towns. I have been privileged to have lived in and traveled to many countries. Thank you for all your videos! I'm 74 now and on a fixed income and will probably never see China in person. When younger I saw the nearly the entire continental US and Mexico and Costa Rica, with a trip to Europe and India, but not China. I wish I could have gone there but things were different then. Let us be obxtive and factual. Our Little Sister seemed to have done her videos on these two water-towns of Nanxun & Wuzhen as they are called, very late in Autumn or early Winter when there is very less foreign tourists. Even local tourists are very less in number at that material time. At certain periods of the year, many touristic places are overcrowded with people and you will witness the frantic & hectic movement of the crowds and vehicles present. Maybe these old water or river towns are less known and therefore less frequented by Non-Chinese.

My husband’s family used to live in a small water town like this. Their old house was built in Ming dynasty, very well reserved and it has been turned into a museum later on. Very similar to these houses.

This was another great video. Different in character. Low pace. Amazing locations. I am from the water city Amsterdam, and find all those Dutch cities with canals and bridges totally normal. I love Venezia and the laguna islands. And I love Brugge (Brughes). Every water city with its own character. You added a whole area in China that I now must visit, the region under lake Taihu. And many other places from your video's. You completely changed my perspective of China and I find it very rich to have this experience at your side.

The narrower waterways remind me of Amsterdam, but Nanxun has a lot more character, with the narrow passageways along the canal margins. As you say, we should go and visit these water towns. I note they are not very far from Shanghai, which might suit some of us tourists for a day visit. I love the flowers and music.

Another beautiful vlog! Thank you, and Happy New Year to you and your family, Yan. I kept feeling that I'd seen the waterways of Guangde in a C-drama. Maybe I have, maybe they're just so lovely that they could be. One thing seems sure; children everywhere seem to like sweet things; your childhood favourite, toffee apples, were my favourite growing up 60 years ago in Australia, though the apples were much bigger. I don't know if the toffee coated fruits came with from the UK with convicts and settlers or from China with immigrant shop-owners, but a child's sweet tooth certainly crosses national borders!! Nihao Yan..Hello to you. This video was spectacular! I can close my eyes and transport myself one thousand years back when the water town was a distribution center of farm and many other commercial products. The river so beautiful like a Venetian quiet peaceful river so well preserved, ancient buildings and bridges gives it a unique touch to see what life was and is now. Loved Nanxun and Wuzhen. Amazing work of art done with rice, lovely! The Chinese red lanterns at night give the town warmth and so inviting. Thank you Yan for opening another window to the beauty that you country beholds. On another note; it was funny you could not understand the Hunan dialect and it made me wonder " a Hunan dialect similar to Guangde dialect so close to your home; how interesting".
