@MichelePonte
I lived there for 6 months! The city is so big that you don’t need to leave your own district, cause each district is a million people city by itself!
@itayonplay
This city looks futuristic and probably the closest thing you see in movies like Blade Runner and games like Cyberpunk... Only missing thing is flying cars all around.
@liuzuoning2542
Let me explain why Peter spent
1,300atKTV.InChina,thecostofdrinksandsnacksatKTVisgenerallyacceptable,around100-200 for 4-5 people. However, some KTVs offer singing services with girls, and you need to pay a tip of about $150-200 for each girl. This is part of a gray area that isn't fully legal in China, which is why Peter didn’t record everything in the video. LOL
@jakerio8
imagine you're jetlagged and try to get to your hotel room in this city. you might as well spend the first two nights living on the streets while looking up your hotel building.
@Waywind420
I stumbled across Chongqing about 2 years ago when browsing the internet.
I was shocked that there was just this massive behemoth city chilling out in central china that no one knows about, and not only that the city is wonderful in it's aesthetic.
@andres0093
I am currently living in Chongqing. If I had known you were coming, I would have accompanied you!! Great video! I love this city. Greetings from a Colombian living in China

I have been to Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Tokio and Chongqing. Chongqing by far the biggest city I have been, by far the most beautiful and the most mysterious city in the planet.
@karenlb3218
I still don’t understand why you don’t have 5 million viewers. Smart, insightful, educational and funny. Thanks for sharing these places and experiences most of us will never get to.
@BnaBreaker
I visited Chongqing in 2006 and even then was blown away by how futuristic it felt. But it was also just so beautiful and unique... in between all the modern highrises are historic charming districts by the river built into heavily wooded hillsides... it's just unlike anywhere I've ever been. It's like every neighborhood is just an adventure in the best way possible full of interesting nooks and crannies you didn't expect to stumble upon.
@mowseb6055
When I visited Chongqing in August, the locals clarified that the actual inner city—the area featured in most videos—has a population of about 7 million. That was the impression I got too. It’s still a massive and impressive city, but it’s not the 32-million-strong mega-city it’s often portrayed as. The 32 million figure includes the entire Chongqing municipality, which spans a vast area about the size of Austria, encompassing many rural regions and smaller urban clusters. If you look at Google Earth, you’ll notice that the dense architecture seen in the city center isn’t spread uniformly across the entire district. This distinction is often overlooked, leading to some misleading portrayals of Chongqing’s size.
@Joshua-rv4hq
How creative and funny your filming and editing is! Now I can understand why so many people like your video because it tells the story in a totally different way. Hope you enjoy your stay in China! Welcome back!
@Real_Eggman
So I did some googling and looking at the map and I think the reason why Chongqing is the largest city is because of the difference of how Tokyo and Chongqing are divided. Greater Tokyo could be classed entirely as a proper city (it's a single continious mass deep inland), but considering how it formed, it's made up of smaller cities.
Greater Tokyo in my opinion is still the largest city, but only by 5 million.
It's odd how many unknowm 20-30M cities China has
@ger.merica2233
Okay, normally I don't write comments, but this series is awesome. Finally something "new" and exciting. You never really get anything good from China in the media, but to see this from you and also to be shown this "city" is really great :D
Please, let there be many more episodes from China :)

@augustegong9266
Love your video! I am from CQ, now I am in Shanghai and I been to LA, NY, Chicago, Dallas and even a small town called Shelton in Connecticut and I love to see that someone actually made a video to introduce my hometown from a different angle as you all know how hard to let the world know the details of China.
@JeanFavie
I lived in China more than 15 years, I was based in Shanghai, great city, and was traveling everywhere. I remember Chongqing, been there twice, first time was impressed by the view on the main group of skyscrapers at night, second time I was scared thinking about an eventual earthquake could happen … I think Chongqing has a very strong vibration but not in the good way …
@chaosflor2034
I'm sorry, but its not quite true that Chongqing is the largest city in the world by population and area. Its because Chongqing is an administrative region that includes a massive area with many rural parts and small towns. When comparing just the urban populations, cities like Tokyo and Shanghai are much larger. Similarly, in terms of the actual urban area, cities like New York and Beijing are bigger. So, while Chongqing's administrative region is indeed vast and populous, its actual urban core isn't the largest by either population or area.
@dingli4664
To be honest, this is a question of urban administrative division. This city is equivalent to a province, with an area of nearly 90,000 square kilometers, which is not considered a city. If divided according to the urban population of the metropolitan area, this city is about 16M.
@Zhuahanjian
Haha, I saw your video on TikTok in China. The production was very entertaining and professional. welcome to China. Each province in China has a different style. Chongqing is a medium-paced city. If you prefer a slower pace, there are plenty of cities. You can also choose a city based on your favorite food, such as meat and seafood. You can also choose a city based on your favorite weather. If you encounter problems, you can turn to anyone for help, but you need to use a translator to communicate with them. You don’t need to worry about safety issues at any time and anywhere in China. I wish you a happy journey.
@JenHo-331
Chongqing is one of the four municipal cities of China together with Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai. It is unofficially a first tier city.
Chongqing (pronunciation - Chon-chin) is an ancient city. I was there in 1992...seeing your video I can see that the city has progressed so much beyond my expectation, I will revisit it again.
@leyuanma1203

@poppyhaze6613
How the building in the train happened, Liziba Station, was, someone in the city's bureaucracy accidentally sold the land to a developer and the transit authority at the same time. When they realized they were in the same spot, instead of stopping all work for years for a lawsuits, they instead worked together so they could both build the monorail and let the developer build their building.
@danieln9152
Absolute great work! Editing style is more like a TV show or a documentary rather than an ordinary vlog. I had been to Chongqing twice for different reasons, the place is a genius design of architectures, don't mention the authentic spicy hotpot (which is my favourite part). It is totally worth to visit Chongqing when you decide to travel in China.
@horaceleung8646
The minimum consumption of karaoke room is about €600, and five or six beauties accompanied you to have fun, which adds up to €1300, which is a reasonable price. But you don't need such a big room, it would be cheaper.
@kreaturen
Chongqing is fast becoming one of Asia's biggest cities, but Tokyo is still bigger. Many cities are. The urban population of Tokyo is almost 40 million, whereas the urban population of Chongqing is "only" 20. Tokyo extends way beyond its municipality, Chongqing does not. Looks like one of Asia's most interesting cityscapes though.
Without listening or watching this whatsoever. It is Chongqing, China. It is the most beautiful and most modern city in the world. I use to live there and as an American I can tell you there is no safer, and no other city in this world that compares to Chongqing.
@EdwardDesmondKenway
From Mainland China: Your video, because it featured a visit to a "commercial KTV," has gone viral on some social media platforms in Mainland China. People are amazed that you have "learned the core technology" (commercial KTVs are not for general public entertainment ?? Sorry, I can only say this much; others in the comments might need to figure out what I mean by themselves). It's clear that you did thorough research because I don't think an ordinary tourist would know about the existence of commercial KTVs, let alone how to get in ??. I watched the whole video, and it was very well made with excellent editing and storytelling. Looking forward to your next video, and I hope you visit other places too—there are many interesting differences between various places of China.
@max_dsouth9
China's urbanization has been dramatic. In the 1980s China's rural population made over 80% of the country's total population. By now, this percentage has dropped to only 35%. Such a rapid Urbanization has rarely seen anywhere in human history. A major reason behind this is that the Chinese government Intentionally incorporated large rural areas into the nearby population centers (i.e., cities and towns) during the 1980s and 1990s. This happened to Chongqing, and this happened to Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chengdu and many other Chinese cities too. The intention of the Chinese government is to quickly change the country from an agricultural-dominated society to an urbanized society.
@Warum_Nicht
Chongqing is more or an administrative region than a city. It would be similar to Japan extending the boundaries of Tokyo to the entire greater Tokyo region, which would make Tokyo bigger.
@danielebui8952

@max_dsouth9
I was there last October. Unlike other mega cities in the world that are built on boring flat plains, Chongqing is built on the slope and cliff of mountains along two large rivers and at their confluence. Because of its unique landscape, Chongqing people have developed impressive infrastructures, including tunnels, bridges, vertical public elevators, and cable cars on the slopes and across the rivers. Chongqing is more authentic and worth visiting than Beijing and Shanghai which is overrated.
@StephenWithaPH2756
I got the chance to stay in Chongqing for about a week or so back in 2013.
My mind was completely blown by how incredible and insanely huge the city was, and just the sheer scale of everything there (and it looks like it's only grown even more since I was there!) - but I was equally as mindblown that virtually nobody had ever even heard of it back home! So glad people are finally starting to realise its existence and see just how awesome it is.

The minimum consumption of karaoke room is about €600, and five or six beauties accompanied you to have fun, which adds up to €1300, which is a reasonable price. But you don't need such a big room, it would be cheaper.

Chongqing is more or an administrative region than a city. It would be similar to Japan extending the boundaries of Tokyo to the entire greater Tokyo region, which would make Tokyo bigger.
As an italian, where since a long time we have a strong connection with china for cultural exchanges and a great Chinese community there, i Just can Say that Is an Amazing and historical culture that i want to live and get fully Deep inside being so fascinating and full of experience to do. Love china from Italy ?
It is a nightmare for every tourist and a dream for every tour guide. And the rooms are cheap because not many tourists are interested in chasing through a labyrinth for their entire vacation.
IDK how you do it, but I really enjoy watching you even when you are just looking for an elevator for minutes. Great video, and also very much educational. It's obvious that you appreciate the country you're visiting, not just using it for clicks.
